Description
The quintessential English teatime cake, a huge favourite with Queen Victoria. The Victoria Sandwich started life in the nursery, Nanny fearing that cakes with fruit, seeds and nuts were not suitable for little children. With the invention of Baking Powder in 1843, a new sponge cake was created. Just like ours, sandwiched together with raspberry jam and dusted on the top with caster sugar it will become your favourite, fit for a Queen.

The ingredients for our delicious cakes are freshly delivered by trusted suppliers and carefully prepared for use in our Cakes. We recommend a shelf life of up to two days after delivery to guarantee freshness. We use greaseproof paper between cakes which must be removed before squeezing in the fillings. We prepare and bake wonderful cakes but please be aware that there may be nuts in some cakes and traces of nuts and other ingredients that may cause allergic reactions in all of our cakes. Please help us to stop sending waste to landfill and recycle when you can. We are conscious of our ecological footprint and try to be as kind to the earth as we can.
Our cakes are made using traditional methods and ingredients where the emphasis is on taste. Amy is a WI Cookery and Preserves Judge and the hallmark of home cooking is flavour – how it tastes. Contrary to popular opinion WI Cookery judges give the most marks for how good something tastes and that is what is important to us at KBO Cakes. The Shape and uniformity of each cake may not be the same, but that’s because each cake is made with love in a home kitchen by real cooks.

I absolutely loved this cake! Delicious light sponge and rich raspberry jam. The jam comes separate, just snip the corner of the bag and pipe in, super easy and fun. Absolutely must serve with a cup of Yorkshire tea!
